Cav Empt for Beauty&Youth United Arrows

Though their Fall collection started creeping out at the beginning of the month, we’re still awaiting a lookbook or video from the C.E camp so that’ll come later, but here’s an unexpected collaboration from the east for the meantime.

For those that don’t know, Beauty&Youth – if I understand correctly – is an in-house label and offshoot store of United Arrows, one of Japan’s largest department stores and retailers. United Arrows has a solid reputation around the globe as a focal point of contemporary style and fashion and many will be familiar with some of the collaborations they’ve done over the years – some beautiful New Balances, for example – or, failing that, their buyer/brand director Poggy, whose impeccable style & character often precedes the company he represents.

Having also released a small collection with the retailer earlier in the year, C.E has returned to United Arrows for Fall 2014 with a capsule collection of a tracksuit-combo and crewneck sweat. The sweatshirt features the brand’s usual unorthodox paneling and palette, rounded off with a referential script graphic. The tracksuit pieces look like they riff on the classic Adidas track top and bottom with a glossy poly-construction, rib cuff and hems and the usual branding placement, finished with reflective appliques.

The capsule releases on September 6th with prices ranging between ¥15000 and ¥20000 – roughly £90-120 – but will be exclusive to just four Beauty & Youth stores in Shibuya Koen-dori, Shinsaibashi, Sapporo and Nagoya. Anybody interested in getting hold of pieces should have a look at a Japanese proxy service such as Stylistics for a chance to get hold of something a little bit different. Safe.
